Geomembrane Technologies Inc. (GTI) custom designs and installs innovative fabric covers to collect valuable biogas from anaerobic digestion systems.

GTI’s covers are gastight to control odors and limit oxygen content within the biogas for safe transmission and flaring. In waste-to-energy projects, the collected gas is used as a renewable fuel to generate process heat or electricity, helping to offset energy costs. Insulated covers provide additional buoyancy and help maintain consistent temperatures throughout the anaerobic process.

GTI’s gas collection covers are designed to:

  • Lower operating costs
  • Collect biogas to be converted into green energy
  • Control odors and algae growth
  • Block contamination
  • Provide thermal insulation

Built to withstand tough conditions, GTI’s covers are fabricated with strong, long-lasting materials to resist tears, punctures, chemicals and UV rays. The covers are designed to operate in any climate, and installation and maintenance can be done without disrupting plant operation.

The covers are safe to walk on, letting operators easily sample contents and perform maintenance work. Hatches and ports can be provided for even easier access. The covers are also equipped with weights and drains to collect and remove rainwater.

Gas collection covers:

  • Designed for waste-to-energy projects
  • Gastight for safe biogas handling
  • Built to last

Gas collection covers are best operated by a GTI biogas control system which regulates the negative pressure under the cover. Advanced controls can be incorporated for biogas storage to optimize utilization.

With more than 30 years of experience delivering solutions for demanding water and wastewater applications, GTI has grown to become a global leader in cover and liner systems. Our dedicated team has completed more than 250 installations in the industrial, municipal and agricultural sectors around the world.
