For visual learners and visual workplace advocates, Graphic Products, Inc. has issued a free 5S infographic for websites, blogs and print media. Consisting of six colorful “suites” illustrating sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain and a sixth for safety, viewers will appreciate the simplicity, clarity and personality this industrial subject is given by graphic artist Angelique Sanders. To add this image to your own media, visit www.duralabel.com/infographics/6s-system-infographic.php.

Incorporating appealing characters, realistic textures, and 5S-appropriate props, Sanders makes each suite come alive with a 3-D look. Originally designed as a poster, the infographic is visually impactful, engaging and friendly – a refreshing approach to a topic that has been the subject of many technical articles.

Sanders’ work brings to five the number of infographics created by Graphic Products, Inc., whose thermal transfer printers and industrial printing supplies are used in safety communications and lean manufacturing. The other four include: OSHA Worker Safety, Deadliest & Safest Cities for Workers, Arc Flash Boundary and Globally Harmonized System of Chemical Labeling (GHS) – all created by graphic designer Joe Hanson. The company has developed an expansive catalog of content designed to influence safety behavior.

“Lean manufacturing and 5S are closely aligned in the manufacturing world,” says Steve Stephenson, chief marketing officer, Graphic Products, Inc. “The goal is to reduce material waste, reduce the number of steps needed to perform a job, know where to find tools, track the number of units in production and know who is covering every shift and every task. We’ll continue to explore new mediums to communicate these messages.”
