Hach Company will announce the two grand prize winners of its See the BIG Picture contest at WEFTEC2011 at 2 p.m. on Oct. 18 in booth #1601. Hach will award one municipal wastewater facility and one industrial wastewater site $50,000 in new Hach equipment.
“The entries for 2011 were quite impressive, and the judges had a big job in front of them.” said Kurt Tyler, vice president of marketing for Hach. "After much deliberation, the panel chose two very deserving and very creative facilities.”
The contest, which began on April 19, offered one municipal and one industrial wastewater treatment plant the chance to receive $50,000 in Hach equipment by creating a video or PowerPoint presentation explaining how new equipment could improve their treatment process. Entries were judged on creativity, expected results from the products requested, and the expected impact of the award.
While the two grand prize winners have been selected, eight other plants are hopefuls to receive the Fan Favorite prize of $40,000 in Hach equipment. This prize will be awarded to one facility based on public votes at hachbigpicture.com/vote. Voting is open to the public and ends on Nov. 13, 2011. Hach will announce the winner on Nov. 15, 2011. * Baldwin County Sewer Service, Alabama
* Deltona Lakes Wastewater Facility, Florida
