Godwin pumps is supplying pipe and crew to help with recovery operations at the North River Wastewater Treatment Plant in New Jersey after a major fire there last week.

Five engines caught fire in the machine room at the treatment plant n Harlem on July 20. The fire in a lift station had caused sewage to enter watersheds and attached beaches. The total required capacity of the facility is about 120 mgd in dry-weather conditions. The Flygt pumps were supplied from Cincinnati and Chicago.

Godwin Pumps is supporting the job with piping and engineering. Temporary piping was shipped to the treatment plant, including more then 2,000 feet of 18-inch pipe and 6,000 feet of 24-inch pipe. Several pipe fusion machines are on site, and technicians are operating them around the clock.
