The Hillsborough County (Fla.) Water Resource Division Northwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility has again received the Florida Water Environment Association’s Earle B. Phelps Award in the advanced wastewater treatment plant category. The facility also won the award in 2007 and 2008 and was the runner-up in 2009.The award, established in 1964, honors outstanding treatment plants in Florida that have maintained the highest removal of pollutants. Awards are given for advanced treatment, advanced secondary facilities, and secondary facilities. Plant size also is considered.
