Parkson Corporation has appointed Shamus M. Hurley as president and CEO. Hurley, who served for the last five years as CEO of Kinetico, a maker of residential and commercial water treatment systems, replaces Zain Mahmood.
"I'm delighted to be joining the Parkson team," said Shamus. "Myriad challenges exist in the water and wastewater industry, and this situation will continue to create real opportunities for Parkson. I look forward to working in close collaboration with our manufacturers' representatives to engineer solutions that not only add value but also respect our collective goal of being responsible stewards of the environment."
Mahmood steps down after five years as CEO. Under his leadership, Parkson has expanded into new regions of the world, such as Korea, Israel, Australia, and the Middle East. He was also responsible for renewing and relaunching a series of products including the Aqua Guard screen, the Lamella EcoFlow inclined plate settler, and the DynaSand EcoWash continuous backwashing filter.
Kinetico and Parkson are members of the Axel Johnson AxWater Group, formed in 2006 to pursue a commitment to bring clean, safe water to individuals and communities.
Michael D. Milligan, president and CEO of Axel Johnson, observed, "As Parkson continues to broaden the mix of products and services it offers, ensuring our ability to execute each project flawlessly is our most important priority. Shamus brings a wealth of experience in managing the sale and delivery of complex engineered systems, and we are confident that Parkson will maintain its strong growth trajectory under his leadership."
